OXFORD COUNTY : Oxford County will be recognizing 7 students for their involvement in an entrepreneurship program this summer.
Summer Company will be hosting their very first Young Entrepreneur Recognition event to award students who planned, developed and operated their own business.
Manager of Small Business Enterprise Centre Ronda Stewart explains that the program gives students the experience about the workings and ups and downs of running their own business.
"What we do is we go out and we market and promote this program as an opportunity, or a career alternative for students to really get that first hand experience."
The awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, August 24th at the Woodstock & Area Small Business Enterprise Centre starting at 3pm.
Stewart tells Heart FM what students gained from the program.
"They created a business plan, put together a cash flow, worked on a marketing plan and then opened up and fully operated a successful business over the course of the summer."
Summer Company applications will open in January 2018 and any youths interested in entrepreneurship are encouraged to apply here.
