OXFORD COUNTY - A new scam is making the rounds in Oxford County and it involves The Ontario Court of Justice.
Four people have reached out to the Oxford County Provincial Offences Administration recently after they got a text message about an unpaid fine that needs to be settled.
It's important to note that The Ontario Court of Justice will never ask for money or personal information through a call or text message.
You should call the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501 if you have fallen victim to one of these scams. You can also call your local police detachment.
A warning about this scam was posted on the Oxford County social media pages yesterday.
