A new 10-year Shelter Plan has been released by Oxford County. Residents now have the ability to provide feedback or send questions, by filling out a survey.
OXFORD COUNTY - Residents of Oxford County have the chance to offer their feedback on the new 10-Year Shelter Plan.
The development of a housing and homelessness plan was mandated by the province to address housing concerns. Namely, the increasing population and cost of living, lack of rental and housing units, and growing amount of people in "core housing need."
This includes people living in inadequate housing for their needs, and those that must spend over 30% of their gross income on rent.
Oxford County first released a 10-year housing plan in 2015 which was reviewed in 2020. The county now released a "100% Housed" goal in their current strategic plan.
More information and the feedback survey can be found here. Oxford County Council will review the results next year.
