The Director of Public Works position has been filled in Oxford County.
OXFORD COUNTY - An announcement has been made regarding the staff in Oxford County.
CAO Ben Addley mentioned yesterday that Melissa Abercrombie will become the Director of Public Works on Monday, February 10th. Abercrombie has been with the County since 2006 and joined the Public Works Department in 2014. She is currently the Senior Manager of Engineering Services and has held this position since 2017.
Abercrombie speaks to what she plans to bring to the role.
“Oxford County is at a pivotal stage in building its communities and planning for its future. As director, I am committed to understanding how we can best serve our residents when it comes to our core public works services, and I look forward to continuing this work alongside our municipal partners and very dedicated staff team.”
As director of Public Works, Abercrombie will oversee and plan the strategic development of Oxford County’s construction and engineering services, facilities, energy management, roads and transportation, waste management, and water and wastewater services. The role comes with $125,000,000 worth of capital projects this year, along with furthering the County Strategic Plan goals to preserve and enhance the natural environment and mitigate climate change impacts.
