The Oxford OPP issued 162 traffic charges over the Civic Holiday long weekend and 111 of them were for speeding.
OXFORD COUNTY - It was a busy August long weekend for the Oxford OPP.
Officers laid 162 traffic charges over the 3-day weekend and 111 of them were for speeding.
They charged three drivers with impaired driving and two with distracted driving. Three seatbelt charges were laid as well.
Officers were on the lookout for the Big 4 causes of serious collisions; alcohol/drug impairment, aggressive driving/speeding, driver inattention/distracted driving and lack of seatbelt use.
The Oxford OPP also charged five drivers for failing to slow down and move over for an emergency vehicle or tow truck.
