Oxford Reads is a new county wide book club that will span all 14 Oxford County Library branches.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County Library is introducing Oxford Reads; a new county wide book club for adults.
Tillsonburg Branch Supervisor Sydnie Lane says they're encouraging adults to pick up a copy of The Purchase by Linda Spalding.
"The idea is to encourage everyone in Oxford County to read the book, participate in discussions and attend programming that is going to support the book as well."
Lane adds The Purchase is a historical fiction about a Quaker family.
"It touches on a lot of different themes that historical Oxford County can relate to. Everything from immigration, to the Quaker community, to slavery and a lot of really interesting things that we're able to explore with the residents of Oxford."
The book will be available at the 14 Oxford County Library branches; you can check their online catalog here. It's also available for purchase at Merrifield Book Shop.
The programming events will be taking place this fall, including a gala with Linda Spalding herself. More information will be posted online here.
