Tickets cost $25 for adults or $20 for kids with a portion of the proceeds going to Crime Stoppers of Oxford County.
WOODSTOCK - January is Crime Stoppers Awareness Month and Crime Stoppers of Oxford County is getting ready for it's next big fundraiser.
Director Jan Hauck says Pizza for a Purpose will be taking place at the Boston Pizza in Woodstock on Tuesday January 27th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m..
"Adult tickets are $25 and it includes a specialty pizza, a salad, and a drink. Children's tickets are $20 and it includes everything off the children's menu. From those ticket sales, Boston Pizza will return a portion of those sales to us for our program."
They will have dine in and takeout options available and those who are interested can e-mail oxfordcs@execulink.com to get their tickets.
Hauck says the money raised will be put to good use.
"We don't get dollars from anywhere, only the fundraising activities that we put on as a Board of Directors or as a charity. So that money predominantly goes toward our tip reward program because we're not paid and we're all volunteers. We do have some small administration like our phone lines and such but it's very minimal, so the money raised through our fundraisers goes to pay out our tips."
Crime Stoppers of Oxford County is a local charity that accepts anonymous tips for local crimes and passes them on to local police services. It's a service that's available online here or over the phone by calling 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). Those who submit a tip could be eligible for a cash reward up to $2,000.
Crime Stoppers is Oxford County receives about 35 to 50 tips each month and most of them are submitted online. If you decide to submit a tip online, make sure you clear your browser data afterwards. It's also important that you don't provide any identifying information for yourself, whether your leaving the tip online or over the phone.
Jan Hauck stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Wednesday January 14th. You can listen to the full interview below:
