The Woodstock Navy Vets will battle the Tavistock Braves in Game 7 of their Doherty Division quarterfinal series tonight. The puck will drop at 7:30 p.m. at the Tavistock and District Recreation Centre.
WOODSTOCK/TAVISTOCK - The Tavistock Braves have forced a Game 7 in their Doherty Division quarterfinal series against the Woodstock Navy Vets.
Woodstock took a 3-2 lead in the series Friday night, after celebrating a 6-5 win over the Braves in Tavistock. It was a close one, but Ethan Szabo was able to score the gaming-winning goal with only 32 seconds left to secure the win. It was also his third goal of the night.
The two teams faced off at Southwood Arena Saturday night, where Tavistock won 3-2 in the end.
Tonight's game will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Tavistock and District Recreation Centre and the winner will face the New Hamburg Firebirds in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, the Norwich Merchants will begin their semifinal series against Wellesley Applejacks this Wednesday. The Merchants advanced to round two of the playoffs after celebrating a 6-2 win over the Paris Mounties Thursday night, winning their quarterfinal series 4-1 in the end.
In the Yeck Division, the Thamesford Trojans will begin their semifinal series against the North Middlesex Stars on Thursday. The Trojans last game was on March 11th, when they beat the Lucan Irish 5-2. Thamesford won the quarterfinal series 4-0.
