The Fergus Whalers have won the Schmalz Cup.
FERGUS - It wasn't the result Braves fans were looking for.
Tavistock suffered a 6-5 loss to the Fergus Whalers on Friday. It was Game 4 of the Schmalz Cup Final, and Fergus took a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Game 5 was a nailbiter yesterday, but Fergus did celebrated a 4-3 victory in overtime, winning the championship in front of a crowd of over 1,400 people at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex.
Marc Dionne, Nolan Miller, and Yann Raskin scored for Tavistock in their final game of the season.
