Three large-scale international plane disasters in the past week are not discouraging Woodstock travelers.
WOODSTOCK- Three high profile international plane crashes during the course of one week are not scaring Woodstock travelers. Two local travel agencies say their clients have not expressed concerns about flying in the wake of the multiple plane crashes.
Woodstock Travel agency owner Patricia Robertson recently travelled by air to Europe and said despite the crashes she feels safer traveling by air.
"I know overall travelling by air is extremely safe, the percentage of times that something awful happens is so small that when I hear of an incident I don't instantly assume that it's going to happen to me because I know the odds are very unlikely."
Robertson explained some of the reasons behind the lack of concern surrounding air travel.
"I don't think we really have anyone traveling into those dangerous zones. We don't have anybody booked to go those places... plus there are advisories and we would advise people if they are heading in somewhere dangerous."
The high-profile Malaysia Flight 17 was shot down out of the sky over Ukraine. A TransAsia Airways plane crashed in Taiwan during stormy weather and a Air Algerie flight vanished during a rain storm.
One local travel agency refused to comment.
