Woodstock police are looking for the public's assistance after reports of a suspicious person in the city's downtown. On Thursday around 3:30 pm, a 15 year-old girl was standing on Light Street, north of Dundas when an older man approached her and started small talk. He asked her if she would want to wait out of the cold in his vehicle and the young girl declined. The man left, got into his vehicle and drove south on Light Street. The man is described as white, around 60-70 years old with grey hair and mustache. He was wearing a faded red or brown jacket, hat and dark scarf. He was driving a dirty, older style white van possibly a Dodge Caravan. Anyone with information regarding the man or vehicle is asked to call Woodstock police at 519-537-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 519-421-8477 (TIPS).
