A 17-year-old Brantford hockey player has been charged with assault causing bodily harm. The unidentified Midget player is charged in the on-ice assault of a Woodstock player that happened back in January at the Woodstock Community Complex. In a game between the Brantford 99ers and Woodstock Jr. Navy Vets, Woodstock player Nick Major "snowed" the Brantford goalie. He was then grabbed by another player, who ripped off Major's helmet and punched him several times in the face. Major did not retaliate. Woodstock Police says after reviewing video of the incident, interviewing witnesses and consulting the Crown Attorney's office, they have laid a charge in the case. The Brantford player will appear in a Woodstock court on July 11th to answer to the charge.
