The longest wait time reported to Heart FM thus far was 10 minutes at one of the stations in Ingersoll. Tune into 104.7 this evening for live election coverage with a special focus on Oxford County and surrounding regions.
Elections Canada requires the polls to be open for 12 hours in every Province but the times vary.
In Ontario, our times are from 9:30 a.m to 9:30 pm. We have not heard any reports of massive lineups this morning at any of the polling locations in Oxford County. The longest wait time reported to Heart FM thus far was 10 minutes at one of the stations in Ingersoll. Every polling station across the country will be closed by 9:30 p.m EST. We do not expect any real results to come in until much later this evening. With all of the mail in ballots, it is entirely possible we will not be able to declare a winner tonight.
Volunteers say they expect the lineups will get longer later in the day, when people get off work. Heart FM will be doing live election coverage all night. If a winner is declared for Oxford County, we will be interviewing them live on the air, for an immediate reaction.
If you did not get a voters card in the mail, you can search for your polling station by postal code online here. You will need to bring a driver's licence with you or two other pieces of photo i.d. If you have not registered to vote yet, you still can online here.
