Two-thirds of the Salvation Army's fundraising from November to December is by mail.
TORONTO - The Canada Post strike has had a negative effect on donations to the Salvation Army.
According to Toronto-based spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel John Murray, 65 percent of the Salvation Army's annual fundraising is between November 1st and December 31st, and two-thirds of it is by mail. With that being said, the charity organization is down $9 million compared to last year.

Canada Post submitted a proposal to the Canadian Union of Postal Workers on Friday, and it's still waiting for a formal response from the union.
