Ontario is under 1,000 daily cases again this morning and the numbers are starting to come down a bit the Province's hot spot regions with 249 new cases in Toronto, 164 in Peel and 92 in York Region.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 958 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 303,763.
Ontario also confirmed 28 new deaths over the weekend, bringing the total number of deaths in the Province to 7,014. Another 1,090 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 286,352. Ontario confirmed 17 new cases of COVID-19 variants yesterday. The Province also confirmed 7 new variant cases today, this means we now have a total of 552 cases of the variant that originated in the U.K, 27 of the variant traced back to South Africa and 3 that originated in Brazil.
The province completed over 52,600 tests yesterday. We currently have 668 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 274 people in the ICU and 188 in the ICU on a ventilator. Daily case numbers in the Province's main hot spots are starting to come down a bit as well with 249 new cases in Toronto, 164 in Peel and 92 in York Region.
