ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has released a new guide to help businesses reopen safely and protect employers and employees.
Premier Doug Ford says the worst thing we can do is rush into reopening, health and safety must come first.
"Over the past few weeks, we have take steps to build the necessary confidence that will help everyone, prepare and adapt to get the economy going again. That means giving employers confidence so they can open their doors, it also means giving workers confidence and we have customers confidence and that is how we will get our economy roaring once again."
The COVID-19 Safety Plan guide is a tool kit that will help each employer create a safety plan that is right for their own unique workplace. It includes information on the use of face coverings, as well as applying controls in the workplace, from most important to least important. It also includes information on what personal protective equipment may be needed for workers.
Ford also strongly encouraged everyone to shop local this summer.
"It is up to all of us, it is up to everyone to support our local businesses during these difficult times. So let's take pride in our incredible Ontario small businesses and manufacturers, let's support local, buy Ontario; because we have the best of the best right here in Ontario. This summer plan your vacation at one of our incredible Ontario destinations and together we will support each other through this."
You can access the Tool kit online here.
