The Ford Government is updating the COVID-19 vaccine eligibility requirements to include child care workers in licensed settings and people over the age of 45 in hot spot communities.
ONTARIO - Child care workers working in licensed child care settings will soon be able to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
Starting this Thursday, they will be able to book their vaccine appointment if they receive a letter from their employer. They will be required to have this letter on hand while they're booking their appointment.
The Ford Government is hoping to expand vaccine eligibility to child care workers in unlicensed child care settings sometime over the next couple of weeks.
The province is also expanding vaccine eligibility to include people over the age of 45 living in hot spot communities starting today. It has identified 114 high risk neighbourhoods with most of them in Toronto and Peel.
We only have one high risk neighourhood within the Southwestern Public Health region affecting those with an N5H postal code.
