A public information centre regarding the Punkeydoodles Corners intersection will be held in Tavistock tomorrow night.
OXFORD COUNTY - An Intersection Control Feasibility Study has been done for Punkeydoodles Corners.
The study was looking at ways to improve the intersection, after a fatal collision on October 28th, 2022. A flashing stop sign was installed at the intersection a month after the crash, but the Oxford County Manager of Transportation Frank Gross says there are some other ideas to fix the area.
"We're recommending to close two of the existing intersections and consolidate them into one main intersection. With that, add turning lanes and some illumination."
Gross adds there will be a public meeting.
"The purpose of the public meeting is to present the findings, and the preliminary recommendations to the public, then allow the public to ask questions and provide input on the proposed recommendations."
The meeting will be held at the Tavistock and District Memorial Hall on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
