Tina Turner has died after battling a lengthy illness
Legendary singer Tina Turner has died at the age of 83.
According to her publicist, she died peacefully at her home near Switzerland, after a long illness.
The "Queen of Rock and Roll" rose to fame as part of the Ike and Tina Turner duo, before leaving due to an abusive relationship with Ike Turner.
She later found success as a solo artist.
In 2021, Turner was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for her solo work, after being inducted in 1991.
She is survived by two of her sons and her husband, Erwin Bach
