The ramp up to the Woodstock Relay for Life starts tonight. The Relay Rally will be held tonight at the Quality Hotel & Suites in Woodstock. It's a chance to sign up for the Woodstock Relay, which will be held this year on June 14th and 15th at College Ave. Secondary. Tonight's Rally starts at 6:30PM, and will be headlined with a speech from Chuck Phelps. The longtime city resident is in an ongoing battle with a brain tumor and told Heart FM this morning that the Relay is one of the city's most important events of the year. "It has actually become one of the events, which the Cancer Society says has become one of the "enjoyable" events to raise money and fight. A lot of people get fulfillment just by being there." Phelps will also be the keynote speaker at this year's Relay for Life in Woodstock. Last year the event raised over $300,000 which goes towards cancer research. Per capital, it's one of the top Relay for Life events in the province for fundraising, which Phelps says is inspirational. "We need to keep being one of those communities that fight hard and say 'We're going to fight this disease.'"
