An emotional sigh of relief for the family and friends waiting to hear the verdict for John Robinson. John Robinson is guilty of first degree murder and indignity to a human body. The jury gave this verdict around 6:30pm on Thursday. It took them over 24 hours to come to the decision. Crown Attorney Tom Meehan is happy with the results, but he said it was the witnesses who were the key to his case. "The honesty, accuracy, and integrity of the witnesses evidence because they weren't impeached in any meaningful way. That was a signature feature of their evidence starting with Amy Gilbert and Sharon Ellery. Of course Mr. Robinson had nothing but good things to say about them." Clifford Fair's step mother Heather Meadows was at the court house for the verdict. She prepared a statement of how much her and her family miss Clifford. It also points to the destruction this has left in her family. "It has been more than agonizing for us that he displayed such a serious lack of respect for Clifford's remains. Our family and friends have been praying that justice would be served. We feel that the verdict speaks for itself. When you kill an innocent man for no reason, society needs to keep you in jail for as long as possible." Robinson's sentencing will take place on June 26th at the Oxford County Courthouse at 10am.
