Donations and volunteers are needed for the Realtors Care Food Drive in Woodstock and Ingersoll.
WOODSTOCK/INGERSOLL - Volunteers are need to help out with the Realtors Care food drive happening next week.
The annual event is sponsored by the Woodstock-Ingersoll and District Real Estate Board. They will come to your door to pick up food donations on May 4th. All you have to do is leave your donations on the front step marked Food Drive.
Kelly Byers of Sutton Realty Group tells Heart FM what they are hoping you will leave on your doorstep.
"In Woodstock we will have a team of volunteers canvassing before the event and will be dropping off bright yellow Home Hardware bags and in Ingersoll it will be Foodland bags, so if you get one of the bags, that's what you should put your donations in and make sure they are visible for our volunteers to come pick up.
Reineta Gossier with Century 21 Heritage encourages people to get in the spirit, and even think outside the box a bit.
"We are looking for a variety of food, we are very concerned though that people need to make sure that the expiry dates are not past their date, canned food even pet food would be appreciated."
More volunteers are needed to help with the collection and the donations must be put out by 6 pm. All of the donations will be taken to the local Salvation Army. You can find out how to volunteer in Woodstock and Ingersoll online at
