Rec Facility Needs

Residents invited to have their say on future recreation needs through a public meeting and online survery.

WOODSTOCK -- The City of Woodstock is all ears when it comes to shaping the future of recreation in the community.

A public input meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Goff Hall on Finkle Street and the city says topics of discussion include the future of the Civic Centre Arena and Lion's Pool, as well as the proposed recreation complex in the cities East end known as the Woodall Farm Community Complex.

"It's important to go to a public meeting like this," Chair of the Woodstock Recreation Advisory Committee Mark Schadenberg said.

"Not only do you meet the consultants in person and members of the city of Woodstock staff, but you can certainly talk to other people, other user-groups,"

"It doesn't matter is it's an outdoor pool, or [baseball] diamonds, hockey arenas, or soccer pitches, just to sort of say 'well, what could possibly be done in the city of Woodstock over the next 20 years,'"

If you are unable to attend the meeting, but have something to say -- the city is accepting written submissions and has launched an online survey -- www.surveymonkey.com/s/RECFNS

To write your comments, the city asks that you contact the Parks and Recreation Department by email at: parksandrecreation@cityofwoodstock.ca.
