Watercourses in the Upper Thames River watershed are swollen after a good soaking, and more rain could be on the way.
All these early spring showers have swollen rivers and streams in the Upper Thames River watershed.
Upper Thames Conservation Authority Communications Specialist Eleanor Heagy says the wet start to May coupled with a very wet April has left watercourses running high.
"The ground's already saturated so any rain that we're getting now is pretty much running off into the streams and rivers so they are running high right now."
Conditions aren't expected to improve much over the course of the week with more rain in the forecast for the weekend."
"It's not safe to be near the water courses right now," Heagy says. "They're fast flowing, the water is really cold, and the banks are muddy so please make sure that you stay away."
