The Thamesford Lions Club is hosting a 50’s and 60’s theme dance in order to raise money for their organization.
THAMESFORD - Bust out the poodle skirts, bobby socks, and hair grease - the Thamesford Lions are hosting a 50's and 60's dance.
The Rock 'N Roll Dance and Music Night is back by popular demand.
Lion's member Linda Collier says its time to grab your best girl, and practise your hand jive as Rob and the Rydell's keep the music going all night.
"It's a fun filled night where they play the hits from the 50’s and 60’s and get you up and dancing and they're dressed up in their poodle skirts and their bobby socks and yeah they just kind of rock it out."
Collier says these kinds of fundraisers are integral to the work the Lions do in the community.
"So this helps us - coming out for the Lions and doing this dance, supporting us - helps us help others. So we want to keep Lion-ism alive and thriving because when we are thriving we are helping other people."
The dance is at the Thamesford Arena on Saturday, October 15th from 8 p.m. until 12 a.m.
Tickets are $15 ahead of time, or $18 at the door. Contact Collier at 519-285-5123 or Burton Smith at 519-285-5485.
