Rolph Street Public School invites the public to come in and tour the building before they close the doors in June.
TILLSONBURG - It's the end of an era in Tillsonburg as the Rolph Street Public School gets set to close their doors this June after educating the Public for 103 years.
The last day of school at the iconic building will be on June 25th. Students will be transferred to three other schools in Tillsonburg next September. Most of the kids will be going to the New Westfield School, while others will go to South Ridge and Annandale.
Rolph Street is inviting the public to come back and check out the old school before it closes for good with two open houses on Thursday. Principal James Bartley tells Heart FM they are having the open house to give the community a chance to check out the school one last time, and have invited all of their old alumni to stop by and check it out.
They will have two showings on Thursday from 1 - 3 p.m. and then again from 4:30 - 6 p.m.
Another open house and closing ceremonies are planned for the school on June 12th.
No layoffs are expected as a result of the closure as teachers and support staff at the school will be moving to new positions within the school board in the fall.
