Thanks to an $11,000 donation by the Ingersoll Rotary Club, the town is getting a new playground. The money was donated to PlayRight PlayGrounds on Friday night before a crowd of 300 people at the Ingersoll arena for the group's movie night. The funds will be pooled with other money already collected to build a new playground in Kensington Park. Adam Funnell with PlayRight PlayGrounds says it's a needed addition. "Right now in Kensington, there's very limited equipment and it serves a pretty big area of families. So we're going to take out the existing playground and put in a play structure that's accessible for children with disabilities and is also brought up to safety standards of today." Plans are currently being drafted for the new playground. A grant from Oxford Mutual, and funds from PlayRight PlayGrounds' New Years' Eve Phenomenon last December are also supporting the project. Anyone interested in learning more, or helping with a financial donation should check out the group's Facebook page. *Photo courtesy of Stacey Hanlon Photography.
