A total of over $57,000 was raised in the final Run for the FUNd event.
THAMES VALLEY - It was a great showing for the Thames Valley Education Foundation.
On June 1st CASS hosted the Run for the FUNd, and Oxford County Trustee and TVDSB Vice Chair Dave Cripps says how the event turned out.
"We raised just over $57,000, which is the most money that's been raised during the run, in the 10-year tenure, so it was fantastic. Oxford really came through supporting the event, as did all the other folks in the Thames Valley Board that participated."
It was the event's final year, but Cripps says just because this event is over doesn't mean fundraising efforts will stop.
"Our Foundation, the Thames Valley Education Foundation staff are working on some new events to better align with the school year, so we are not doing things in June when school is winding down and it is really hot out and things are busy."
All the money raised will be put into the Caring Fund, which helps students who might need support throughout the School Board throughout the year.
