The Bag Ladies of Oxford show their support for VON Oxford's Sakura House.
The Bag Ladies of Oxford opened their chequebook in support of the VON Oxford Sakura House.
The ladies presented a cheque for $105,611 on Thursday to John Goodbun, the VON Oxford Community Board President.
The 4th Annual Handbags For Hospice held in January broke the 100,000 dollar mark, a task the Bag Ladies committee knew they could achieve.
Chairperson Leslie Farrell said in a release; "Handbags for Hospice began over 4 years ago as an idea for a way to raise needed funds and increase awareness for our residential hospice, VON Sakura House. Thanks to the support of so many – our sponsors, prize donors, volunteers, and more, it has grown from that idea into a sell-out event that has raised over a quarter of a million dollars for our hospice in that time."
Pull out your calendars ladies, the 5th Annual Handbags For Hospice is planned for January 23rd, 2015.
