Marwood Metal Fabrication Limited is going through some re-branding.
TILLSONBURG - Marwood Metal Fabrication Limited is now going by a new name.
The local car part company will now be known as Marwood International Inc.
Marketing and Communications Specialist Derek Morningstar says they're planning for the future.
"A lot of metal fabrication is slowly going to become a thing of the past as we look forward to more hardened plastics, composite, carbon fibre and stuff like that."
Morningstar says a lot of car companies are starting to use hardened plastic materials for their safety features. He says it's also easier to work with.
"As we progress further and further everybody wants lighter materials. With that being said we have a team of people who are researching and doing their hardest to figure that out. I think in the future you will eventually see more and more in terms of carbon fibre."
Marwood has been producing car parts in Oxford County since 1990.
The company employs over 400 people in Tillsonburg and about 80 people in Woodstock today.
