Santa Claus is taking a break from making toys this weekend to make a few stops in Oxford County.
WOODSTOCK - Santa Claus is coming to Oxford County this weekend.
They will be having three parades on Saturday starting in Ingersoll at 11 am. Then Jolly old St Nick will head to Tillsonburg for 2 pm and finish off the day in Woodstock with the parade happening around 6 pm. Parade Marshall for Woodstock Jerry Acchione tells Heart FM it's a lot of work putting on these parades but it's worth it.
"It's a lot of work every year, the committee puts a lot of hours into this, people don't realize the money that is spent and the work that goes into this every year. My favourite part is when my role as parade Marshall is over and I get to join the parade. I'm usually right in front of the band and Santa Claus and driving through and the excitement, of course they have been sitting around for an hour, sometimes in the cold knowing Santa is coming and they can see Santa behind me, you got to see their faces, it's absolutely priceless and it's makes worthwhile every year doing it.
This is Acchione last Santa Claus Parade as the Marshall, he has been doing it for 17 years. Woodstock's parade will feature the Toronto Blue Jays mascot Ace.
