Secondary Teachers Vote to Strike

Secondary School teachers in Thames Valley have voted overwhelmingly to strike. However, government legislation prevents them from walking off the job. The teachers voted 95% in favour of a strike mandate. There are about 2000 teachers, supply teachers and support workers that voted, at least symbolically, in favour of a strike. But Bill 115, which was passed on September 11th imposes a 2-year wage freeze on teachers, and prevents them from striking. The teachers unions have said they will fight the bill in court.
