Broadway Street in Tillsonburg is closed between Devonshire Ave and Lisgar Ave in Tillsonburg after a serious collision today.

TILLSONBURG - Police have made an arrest and the deceased has been identified in Tuesday's fatal hit and run in Tillsonburg.
The crash happened on Broadway Road and Christie street at 11 a.m. yesterday morning between a car and a cyclist. The 63 year old cyclist was rushed to the hospital with life threatening injuries. He has since died. The deceased has been identified as 63 year old Michael Jones of Tillsonburg.
The driver of the motor vehicle who failed to remain at the scene was arrested after getting into a second seperate collision yesterday.
38 year old Mark Newell of Springfield was arrested and is facing the following charges
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Fail to stop at accident resulting in death
- Possession of property obtained by crime, over $5000
- Failure to stop after accident
- Causing death by criminal negligence
The accused was held for a bail hearing and has since been remanded into custody.
UPDATE: Broadway Street remains closed at Christie Street after a near fatal hit and run collision today involving a cyclist and a vehicle.
TILLSONBURG - Broadway Street in Tillsonburg is closed between Devonshire Ave and Lisgar Ave in Tillsonburg after a serious collision today.
Police and EMS responded to the crash just before noon today. Few details are being released at this time, however police say the cyclist did suffer life threatening injuries.
