Environment Canada warns the conditions are favourable today for the development of dangerous thunderstorms in our region today. It's possible the storms could carry large hail and heavy rain.
Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Environment Canada warns that these types of storms can produce tornadoes.
Lightning is also a concern as it kills Canadians every year.
