A Severe Thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Counties of Brant and Oxford.
Environment Canada warns the conditions are favourable today for the development of dangerous thunderstorms in our region today. It's possible the storms could carry large hail and heavy rain.
Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Environment Canada warns that these types of storms can produce tornadoes.
Lightning is also a concern as it kills Canadians every year.
The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
A squall warning has also been issued for Lake Erie and if you are at or heading to the Lake today, you might want to rethink those plans.
