Ella Shelton and the rest of Team Canada celebrated a 4-0 win over Switzerland last night, securing a spot in tonight's gold medal final against the United States.
CALGARY - Team Canada will battle the United States for the gold medal at the 2021 IIHF Women's World Hockey Championship in Calgary.
Canada crushed Switzerland in the semifinal last night 4-0. Renata Fast scored the first goal for Canada, followed by two goals from Melodie Daoust and another goal by Rebecca Johnson.
Ingersoll's Ella Shelton found herself in the penalty box for 2 minutes close to the end of the second period for interference. Shelton has suited up for Team Canada in every game in the tournament so far. The 23-year-old plays left defense and she currently has three points; one goal and two assists.
Tonight's gold medal match should begin at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
