A park bench with historical and sentimental significance has gone missing in Woodstock. A black metal bench on the south shore of the Pittock Park Trail went missing sometime between July 19th and 23rd. The bench was donated to the city by the family of the late Bette M. Jones. There was an inscription on the bench reading: reads "Dedicated to the Memory of Bette M. Jones - A Pioneer in the Advancement of Accessibility for the People of Woodstock and of Ontario." The bench has been a fixture on the trail since 2010, and is valued at $1250. Suspects cut through bolts that secured the bench to a cement base. Anyone with info on the location of the bench should contact Woodstock Police (537-2323) or Crime Stoppers (1800-222-8477).
