TILLSONBURG - The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has launched an investigation in Tillsonburg.
It says a 26-year-old was taken to hospital with a serious injury after he was arrested by the Oxford OPP on Thursday June 5th.
Officers spotted two persons of interest in a theft investigation, close to Bridge Street West and Broadway Street at around 12:30 p.m. The SIU says the man tried to run away but one of the officers pursued him on foot, took him to the ground, and handcuffed him after a struggle.
Two investigators have been assigned to this case so anyone with information should call the SIU at 1-800-787-8529.
The SIU investigates incidents with police that result in death, serious injury, sexual assault, and/or discharge of a firearm.
