A Woodstock Police Officer has been found not responsible for injuries sustained to a suspect in February.
WOODSTOCK - The Special Investigations Unit file has been closed in Woodstock.
The incident in question was on February 1st this year when an officer witnessed a man acting disorderly in the area of Graham and Dundas Streets. The man tried to flee the officer and ended up climbing a fence and falling.
He sustained fractures to his right hand and wrist, but through the investigation, it was found the injuries were from a previous altercation, before police involvement. SIU Director, Joseph Martino determined there is no reason to believe the injuries were from police and the SIU was without statutory jurisdiction to investigate the incident.
