There will be Trolls in Southside Park as the What the Health Team hosts a Smoke Free Movie Night.
WOODSTOCK - Smoke Free Movie Night is coming back to Southside Park
Oxford County Public Health's What the Health Team arranges this free annual event to shine a light on how smoking in movies can influence children and youth today. The Trolls movie was selected because it has absolutely no smoking in it.
Summer Student Olivia Gudziewski tells Heart FM smoking in movies is still far too prevalent.
"The Ontario Film Review Board, when they consider the rating for movies they look at language, violence, nudity, horror and things like that. They never consider smoking or tobacco product placement and I think it's really important for those things to be not shown to youth."
The Smoke Free Movie Night will take place at toboggan hill in Southside Park on July 21st.
Gudziewski says all the fun will start at 7 p.m.
"We will have lots of different games, face painting, and a photo booth. We're actually playing the movie Trolls and Poppy from the movie will be there and she'll be able to take pictures with the kids, giving high-fives, and things like that."
Those who attend the free event can also make their own buttons and check out a colouring station.
The movie will come to life on a giant inflatable screen at dusk.
