Snowfall Warning Issued for Oxford County

First we get the rain, then the ice pellets and then 10-20 cm of snow in Oxford County over the next 48 hours.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for most of Southwestern Ontario, including Oxford County.

Before the snowfall hits, we are going to get hit with rain and plenty of it. Rain will start tonight and continue into tomorrow morning. That will eventually change to freezing rain or ice pellets. Environment Canada is expecting anywhere from 10 to 25 mm of rain over that time frame and 2-4 cm of ice pellets.

The snow is expected to start Thursday afternoon through Friday morning. Total snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 cm are possible.

This will result in reduced visibility on our roadways with heavy snow and blowing snow.

The messy mix of winter weather will likely wreak havoc on our roadways over the next couple of days. If you do need to venture out, make sure to drive to the conditions, slow down and clear your vehicle of snow and ice.
