The Health Unit is also reporting 29 recoveries today, with 28 of them from Bayham. The majority of active cases are now in Oxford County with the highest numbers in Woodstock and Norwich.
OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health is reporting 6 new cases of the virus this morning and 29 recoveries.
Almost all of the recoveries are from workers at the Orchard Farm near Bayham.
We currently have 30 active cases of the virus in the region with 24 in Oxford County. Here is the breakdown of the locations according to Southwestern Public Health:

To date we have had 7 institutional outbreaks at Long Term Care Homes. We currently only have 1 active outbreak at the Secord Trails LTC home in Ingersoll where 1 staff member has tested positive. 5 people from the region have died from the virus.
The number one symptom that has led to a positive test in the region is a cough, followed by a fever. Other symptoms that have resulted in positive tests include fatigue, headache, sore throat, shortness of breath and nasal congestion just to name a few. 17% of people who have tested positive in our region were asymptomatic. We currently have 1 person in the hospital with COVID-19 from the region.
