Southwestern Public Confirms Active Case of COVID-19 in Ingersoll

Southwestern Public Health has confirmed an active case of COVID-19 in the Town of Ingersoll today and another recovery in the City of Woodstock.

UPDATE: Southwestern Public Health has confirmed that the person who contracted COVID-19 from the Town of Ingersoll worked at a long term care home.

This means they have one lab confirmed case at the Secord Trails Long Term Care Home in the Town of Ingersoll. All residents and staff are being tested. Results of those tests are pending. The staff member is currently in self-isolation at home while they recover. Secord Trails is working in collaboration with public health professionals to contain the spread of the virus for the safety of all residents and employees.

OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health has confirmed a new case of COVID-19 in the Town of Ingersoll today. 

They also confirmed another recovery in the City of Woodstock. Over the weekend they also confirmed a new active case in East Zorra Tavistock. Oxford County currently has 3 active cases and they have two active cases in St. Thomas/Elgin County.

- 1 case in Woodstock
- 1 case in Ingersoll 
- 1 case in East Zorra Tavistock 

To date, the Health Unit has tested 3,543 people for COVID-19. We have 65 cumulative confirmed cases, 56 cases have been resolved, 4 people have died from the virus and we currently have 5 active cases. We have also had two institutional outbreaks since the pandemic was declared, both in Elgin County and both outbreaks have been resolved.
