We currently have 82 active cases in the Southwestern Public Health Region, with most of them in Aylmer after an outbreak at the Ontario Police College.
OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health is reporting 3 new cases of the virus today and 6 resolved cases.
We currently have 1 person in the hospital with the virus and they are currently in the ICU. The Health Unit is reporting 82 active cases with most of them in Aylmer. The rise in cases in Aylmer is related to an outbreak at the Ontario Police College where 67 people have tested positive for COVID-19. The Health Unit is also reporting just 1 active outbreak at local long term care homes at the Aylmer Retirement Residence. Southwestern Public Health is currently in the orange-restrict level the opening Ontario Frame work. We will be in the orange level for at least 2 weeks, unless the Province decides to use the "emergency break" and push us to red or grey.
