OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health is reporting 67 new cases of the virus today and 59 recoveries.
We currently have 19 people in the hospital with the virus, including 6 in the ICU. The Health Unit is also reporting 7 new COVID-19 related deaths in the region in the past 36 hours. This means the total number of deaths related to the virus in our region, now stands at 23.
We currently have 402 active cases with most of them in Tillsonburg, Woodstock, Aylmer and St. Thomas. Here is the breakdown of the locations according to Southwestern Public Health:

The Health Unit is also reporting 8 active outbreaks at long term care homes. The outbreak at the Maple Manor Nursing Home in Tillsonburg has 54 residents who have tested positive for the virus and 34 staff members. One resident at Maple Manor has died. The outbreak at PeopleCare in Tavistock now includes 32 residents and 24 staff members. Four residents have died after contracting COVID-19 at both PeopleCare and Maple Manor.
