The Perth County OPP charged a 21-year-old from St Marys on Cobble Hills Road just before the clock struck midnight on New Year's Eve.
ST. MARYS - A 21-year-old St. Marys man has been charged after a single-vehicle crash.
Just before the countdown on New Year's Eve, officers from the Perth County OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Cobble Hills Road.
When officers arrived at the scene, the driver had already fled the scene, however they were able to locate the driver and subsequently arrest him for impaired operation nearby. After further testing was completed, he was charged with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.
