The STAGES summer camp will conclude with four performances at Theatre Woodstock this weekend.

WOODSTOCK - Another STAGES summer camp is almost in the books for Theatre Woodstock.

It's a three week program and it will conclude with four performances this weekend. Thirty-six kids between the ages of 7 to 13 will be putting on Madagascar - A Musical Adventure Junior.

The 30-minute production will follow the plotline of the Dreamworks animated film from 2005, where a group of animals escape from Central Park Zoo in New York City and find themselves on the island of Madagascar.

Isla Campbell plays King Julian, the lemur voiced by Sacha Baron Cohen in the animated film.

"He's very energetic and loves to dance! He loves to move It, move It!"

Imogen McFarland plays Mort, King Julian's number one fan who is voiced by Andy Richter in the movie.

"Mort loves follow Julian everywhere he goes!"

Both of the girls are very excited to perform I Like to Move It on stage, which is the song that the movie is known for. But with this being a musical, both of the girls have other songs they are also excited for.

McFarland's is close to the beginning of the show.

"My favourite is Wild and Free which is Marty's solo song."

Campbell's is a big turning point of the show.

"My favourite song in the musical is Grand Central, where all of the animals get tranquilized."

There are four performances scheduled for this weekend with two evening shows and two matinees. Tickets cost $15 each and they can be purchased through the Theatre Woodstock website online here.

Isla Campbell and Imogen McFarland stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Monday, August 17th. You can listen to the full interview below:
