Canada Post workers will be in a legal strike position this Friday if a deal is not reached in the coming days.
CANADA - A Canada Post strike could be on the horizon.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has issued a 72-hour strike notice for the union's urban and rural bargaining units. It says workers will be legally allowed to strike as of Friday, November 15th if negotiated settlements have not been reached before then.
The contract talks have been going on for almost a year at this point.
The union says it has received a strong strike mandate from its workers, but the National Executive Board has not yet determined if a strike would take place immediately. It says it all depends on Canada Post's actions at the bargaining table moving forward.
