Supplies4Students is bringing the community together to support families in Oxford County that need back to school supplies.
Students in the grades JK to grade 6 will receive a $35 voucher and students in grades 7 to 12 will receive a $50 voucher for a designated time to shop before the first day of school.
Jennifer Belleth, United Way Oxford Resource Development tells Heart FM what the program offers.
"Supplies4Students enables families to register by calling 211 and proving their name and their students name and they receive a code go shopping at a local Staples store to chose their school supplies."
She also explains how many students used the program last year.
"There was over 300 students that received support. So the families that were needing support, registered and actually claimed those vouchers for shopping. We hope to grow that. We were cautious in what the dollar amount was for each of the students."
Families can register by calling 211 anytime of the day, when registered families will receive further information about days and times that they are able to shop locally.
