An abandoned house in the area of Lansdowne and Devonshire Ave was up in flames early this morning. Around 12:30am the Woodstock Fire Department and Woodstock Police Service responded to a report of a house fire finding flames showing from all of the upstairs windows when they arrived. It took several hours to fully extinguish the fire due to the condition of the building. The Woodstock Fire Department remain on the scene this hour looking for hot spots. The fire is deemed to be suspicious since there's no Hydro or Gas utilities to the building. It is now the second time this year emergency crews have been called out to the home. Fires were set in the home back in May. Investigations are continuing. There is no damage estimate at this time. The Woodstock Police Service would like to encourage anyone having information about this incident to contact 519-537-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 421-TIPS (8477).
