SWPH is shining a light on overdoses ahead of International Overdose Awareness Day on August 31st.

OXFORD COUNTY - Southwestern Public Health (SWPH) is raising awareness on overdoses.

Partnering with the Oxford Mental Health and Addictions Action Coalition, there will be events taking place to raise awareness, connect residents with supports and resources, and honour lives lost to overdose. The first event happened yesterday afternoon in Museum Square, while today the booth will be set up at Operation Sharing from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The final event will be tomorrow outside Tillsonburg Mall from 10:00 a.m. until noon.

Anyone that comes to an event will have access to naloxone training, information about local programs and services, opportunities to connect with community partners, and space to honour those who have died from overdose.

If you are not able to attend one of the events in Oxford County, but want to participate you can do so by going online to the International Overdose Awareness Day website.
